Thank you for a fun-filled fall!
For four weekends in a row, there were four great events for everyone to enjoy! We started off with our annual Fall Fest at Old Mountain Field, jumped into Pumpkin Racing at Curtis Corner Middle School then, via trebuchet, launched pumpkins at The Farmer’s Daughter and finally ended with a great 5k Trail Run/Walk through the trails at CCMS. We had great weather and fun was had by all who attended! For those who came to Fall Fest, thanks to you we collected 236 pounds of non-perishable food and other items as well as $55, all of which was donated to the Jonnycake Center of Peace Dale.
We would like to thank the following for their sponsorships and support of these events: Ocean State Waves, Tarbox Toyota Hyundai Scion, Launch Trampoline Park, Carpenter’s Farm, Orange Leaf Yogurt, The Farmer’s Daughter, Fireside Froyo, Caster’s Communication Inc, Denali, South County Hospital, Scallop Shell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, NBX Bikes, RoadID, Mindy Trudell Massage Therapy and Sweenor’s Chocolates.
A special shout out to Rob Cagnetta from Heritage Restoration for all of his help with the Pumpkin Launch and to Mike Galoob for guiding us through our first 5k Trail Run. We appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedules to attend the events and show your support as well. To Chris Hiener and his crew from the Union Fire District and Officer Mike Chappell from the South Kingstown Police Department, thank you for once again working with us.
Thank you to all of the Recreation Department staff for being there each weekend, especially during those cold early mornings to help set up and help make sure every event ran smoothly. To Rex Eberly and his Parks Department staff, thank you for all of your help in getting ready for these events especially the Pumpkin Races and 5k race.
We look forward to 2014 and all the fun it will bring. We hope you will be there to take part.
