Jean F. Wicker

Jean F. (Milikowski) Wicker, 93, of North Kingstown, died peacefully on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Home.   She was the wife of the late Jack L. Wicker.  Born in Manchester, CT, she was a daughter of the late Charles M. Milikowski & Teresa K. (Braun) Milikowski.  

  Mrs. Wicker proudly served with the WAVES women’s branch of the U.S. Naval Reserve during WWII.  She participated, with delight, in the RI Fire Chiefs Honor Flight in 2016 at the age of 91.  

She was a member of the RI Dahlia Society and the North Kingstown Senior Center.  For 35 years, she enjoyed spending winters in Sun City, AZ where she was a member of the Oakmont Lapidary Club where she made jewelry.  She loved to travel with family and friends, visiting many places in the U.S. and abroad.  She was an avid gardener, excellent cook and pie baker.  

She leaves her loving children: Paul Wicker of Oklahoma, Theresa Squire & her husband Kevin of Foster, Carl Wicker & his wife Kerry of North Kingstown, and Bruce Wicker & his wife Marcia of North Kingstown.  Cherished grandmother of Robyn Albuquerque and Kyle Wicker of North Kingstown, Jeffrey Squire and Maria Squire of Texas, and Natalie, Julia and Jackson Wicker of North Kingstown, four great-grandchildren, & one great-great-grandchild.  She was the sister of June Pokoski & her husband Raymond of Camden, ME, and the late William Milikowski & Robert Milikowski.

In accordance with Jean’s wishes, a private funeral service will be held in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD.  Burial with Military Honors in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling Hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to the RI Association of Fire Chiefs Honor Flight, P.O.
