Kevin I. Murphy

On February 23, 2019, Kevin I. Murphy of Narragansett, died peacefully at home after a brief illness.

He leaves his wife, Martha; his siblings: Brad (wife, Rose), Karen, and Justin (wife, Jennifer); his mother, Madeline; his wife’s siblings and their families; and 16 beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Leo, and his father, Leo C. Murphy, Jr.

He was employed at South County Hospital as a surgical nurse, where he had worked for nearly 20 years in a job he loved so much he had no plans to retire. When he wasn’t in the O.R., he enjoyed traveling with his wife, being on the ocean in any kind of boat, winter skiing, ballroom dancing, restoring old Volvos, and working in the garden.

He was a well-known and respected member of the community and volunteered for a variety of organizations over the years including the South County Museum and Mystic Seaport Museum.

He is deeply missed by all who knew him.
