Of course, we all know that South County features an amazing array of stunning scenery, which so many local photographers capture with more than just a click of the shutter button. For this 5th annual installment of the photo challenge, we welcome guest judge David Zapatka, a local photographer, Friends of the Plum Beach Lighthouse member and author of "Stars and Lights." His selections here reflect a community of vivid imagery and imagination, beauty in all seasons and a never-ending curiosity about our little hamlet. Enjoy!

From guest judge, David Zapatka: It was truly an honor observing and judging this year's South County Life magazine photo contest. The entries were outstanding and getting to the best images was a hard decision. In this day and age of the smart phones, it's reassuring to see that quality and true "old-fashioned" photography still exists. I encourage all who participated to continue making great imagery.
