While the South County Art Association has featured abstract work and shows in the past, the genre isn’t one the South Kingstown-based gallery focuses on that often. However, this month it will, in its latest offering, “Driven to Abstraction.” Many of the works on display — like “Surf” by Laura White Carpenter, pictured above — defy traditional categorization and may not express a “representation of the real world,” exhibitions director Jason Fong said this week.
