NDK Dental

EAST GREENWICH — A new dentist has come to town and Alex and Ani will soon expand its warehouse space on Main Street.

Nicole DeVecco Kim displays three academic degrees on her office wall at NDK Dental, 5835 Post Road, Suite 113, that tell her story as a goal setter. In 1987, she earned an associate’s degree in applied science – dental hygiene – from Luzerne County Community College; in 1993, she earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Bloomsburg University; and, in 1998, she earned her doctor of dentistry degree from Tufts University.

“I worked full time as a dental hygienist and went to college, and I loved the dental field,” she said. “I started dental school when I was 28 and now I have been practicing for 15 years.”

Kim has opened her office in East Greenwich after working as a dentist at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Providence and at New Vision Dental in Newport, and she likes running her own operation.

“I love being able to do what i want to do by having my own practice as opposed to working for someone,” she said.

She provides a general dentistry practice and on the day of this interview she had a patient, another dentist, waiting for some scheduled dental work. When others in your profession come to you for care that is a solid recommendation, she thinks.

Her office hours are Monday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, visit www.ndkdental.com or call 884-3340.

Another business, Alex and Ani, the jewelry manufacturer and retailer headquartered in Cranston, is about to rent space in the warehouse at 461 Main St. for use as a distribution center.

The company has applied for an alarm permit as part of its security system planned for the building. Several other retailers also use the building as a distribution location.

It is heartwarming to see a successful person who has worked so hard for many years and finally being able to settle down to practice their interest. When we have passion for a certain field, we need to persevere and march onwards in order for us to succeed.
