Four South County athletes were among those making their college commitments official as part of the National Letter of Intent Signing Period. Prout’s Tate Copeland signed Monday to play baseball at Quinnipiac; North Kingstown’s Haley Sawyer signed last week to continue her volleyball career at the University of Rhode Island. South Kingstown High School senior Katie Madore signed her letter of intent last week for track at the University of New Hampshire. South Kingstown’s Grace Gibbons, who attends St. Mark’s School, will row at the University of Massachusetts.
